Welcome
When you visit First Baptist Church for the first time, we want you to be comfortable. So if you dress up, or if you are casual, it doesn’t matter here you are always welcome. (We Believe the Bible does teach to be modest in your dress) Come and enjoy the hospitality and friendly folks as they welcome you to our Church.
We are a very loving church and want you to feel welcome, and free to worship and enjoy our services and message brought to you from our Pastor Adam Taubert.
If you have children, we have children’s church for ages 4-12 in our Kids area. We also offer a nursery for newborns thru 3 years of age. There is something here at First Baptist Church!

Meet The Pastor
Pastor Adam Taubert
Originally from Tennessee, Pastor Adam grew up attending a Southern Baptist Church, but was not converted to Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior until 1994, at the age of 19. While Adam was reading his Bible, the Spirit of God used Jesus’ two simple words “Follow me” to convict him of his sin and bring him to true repentance and faith. Adam served in the U.S. Army and earned several awards, including the”Expert Infantry Badge” and “Soldier of the Year” for the First Infantry Division.
While on a rotation at Ft. Irwin, California, Adam began preaching. After completing his active duty, he earned a B.A. in Bible from Bob Jones University, where he met Jessica. He then earned a Master of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary. During his time in Detroit, he and Jessica were married and began their family. Adam served as pastor of Ambassador Baptist Church from 2000-2008, leading the church in an number of building renovations and establishing the Ambassador Baptist Bible Institute.
After completing his seminary training in 2008, Pastor Adam answered the call to pastor First Baptist Church in Hoopeston. During his time at First Baptist, several people have been saved. Pastor Adam enjoys ministering to others and preaching. In 2011 pastor Adam began his 1/2 hour radio ministry. “I Love to tell the Story” airs at 9:00 AM every Sunday on WHPO, Hoopeston’s local station (100.9 FM). Pastor Adam has studied in Israel and has written a fifty-page syllabus on Biblical Studies. He has also led several tours to Israel under Select Tours, and he will be returning to Israel in the year 2021.
Mrs. Jessica Taubert
Pastor Taubert’s wife, Jessica, earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies education and has taught in a Christian School. She is now a homemaker and works with the ladies and teens at First Baptist Church in Hoopeston. Jessica loves to study the Bible and evangelize as God gives her opportunities. Jessica has a burden for families and individuals to dig deeper in the Word, as well as be comitted to evangelism and missions. Both Adam and Jessica appreciate the opportunity to live and minister in Hoopeston.
